So today I want to share the story of the person that has inspired me to be creative. From a very young age (6 weeks old in fact) I spent time with my wonderful grandparents. They lived in the country town of Gingin and my aunts and uncles live in Bindoon. I pretty much had the best of country living and city living. My grandparents pretty much brought me up and they shared all that they loved with me. My grandfather was the typical farmer and even though they no longer lived on the farm he still loved his animals and his gardening. Any fruit that you can think of was grown so on the 3 acre property that they owned in Gingin. Down the back was chickens and turkeys and sheep and the pet angora goat. So you can see that my love of animals came from all the contact that I had from a young age. My grandparents also had the most adorable poodles that had a little of pups every year. A little girl with puppies to play with is most young girls dream and I was lucky enough to live that life. I was taught to to respect animals and taught all that was involved with looking after animals. My Gran was the creative inspiration for me. Once I was old enough she taught me to china paint and spin wool. Although she was able to spin amazing 4 ply wool which she turned into award winning baby clothing, I was able to spin a fairly constant 8 ply. Her only disappointment was I never actually could grasp her knitting skills for my wool, I did still enjoy trying. I have kind of grasp the ability to crochet, it is pretty basic but no one ever said you had to be good at something to enjoy creating items. So that pretty much gives you the background to how my grandparents inspired me.
As an adult I explored a few different party plan craft companies all of which I loved for all the amazing people that I met and all the techniques that I learnt. The great thing about party plan companies is that you can work it around your family life. By the age of 28 I had four amazing kids all of them are now adults. I was running courses in glass painting, card making and scrapbooking which again led me to meet some amazing ladies. Some of these ladies are still amazingly good friends actually the kind of friends that feel like family. This however was not enough to meet the finances of my growing family so I did go back to full time work. This left very little time for my craft, I have always had a craft room in any house we have lived in but spent very little time in there.
So now i am going to get back to my creativeness and I will show you all some of the cards that I am going to create and hopefully the scrapbooking pages as well.
